The belief that to be a competent inspector requires you to have served an electrical apprenticeship is a fallacy. An inspector is more than an electrician in many respects, which their trade does not teach. Inspectors are Health & Safety personnel with specialist knowledge and experience of a wide variety of installations.
Our experience has shown that whilst electricians can carry out inspections, unless trained, they fail to view installations and appliances therein with the same openness of mind as that of a Health & Safety inspector. The training package is arranged for a small group, we provide the course notes, a copy of the IEE Code Of Practice For In-Service Inspection And Testing Of Electrical Equipment, a computerised display and other demonstration artifacts.
